Open source alternative to Microsoft Excel: Gnumeric

Gnumeric is a spreadsheet open source for Linux and Windows -based GNOME, a desktop environment consisting of free software and open-source, with a focus on creating simple functional programs.

Here Gnumeric, the alternative to Excel

Gnumeric is an excellent and comprehensive spreadsheet that replicates the basic functionality of the most popular commercial programs like Excel.

It has a simple but very functional, will also be easy to use for users who have had previous experience with any spreadsheet software.

Of note, the program’s ability to manage file formats associated with Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, Open Office, and others.

We have opened an Excel file with formatting quite complex and Gnumeric has reacted very well – against any other business.

Has many types of graphs and charts, formulas and tools such as the solver, has a section devoted to statistics, in the complex has all or most of the features found in competing versions of Microsoft Excel.

Also being open source is continuously updated with the opportunity to enrich the program with plug-ins to be installed separately.

Official Gnumeric.

Have you ever considered using SSuite Office’s spreadsheet application called Accel ?

Their spreadsheet application also doesn’t need to run on Java or .NET, like MS Office and so many open source programs, so it makes their software very small, efficient, and easy to use. :)
